FUNDRAISE FOR HOUSE OF HOPE BY CLIMBING Mt. KILIMANJARO
Have you ever desired to do something daring, challenging and yet life changing for you and others? We here at House of Hope want to dare you to take the plunge so to speak and help us by doing a Fundraiser climb to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. This mountain is the tallest freestanding mountain rise in the world, rising 15,100 feet (4,600 meters) from its base. It is also one of the tallest mountains in the world that is accessible to walkers. Mount Kilimanjaro is situated entirely within the borders of Tanzania, although it is situated close to the border of Kenya.
* Mt. Kilimanjaro is situated 3 degrees, or about 340 km, south of the Equator.
* Mt. Kilimanjaro is composed of three distinct volcanic cones: Kibo 19,340 feet (5,895 meters); Mawenzi 16,896 feet (5,149 meters); and Shira 13,000 feet (3,962 meters). Uhuru Peak is the highest summit on Kibo’s crater rim and once you reach the summit it is said, You are standing on the , "ROOFTOP OF AFRICA!"
* Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro is easy and requires no technical climbing or mountaineering experience. The biggest challenge and danger is the high altitude.
* Mt. Kilimanjaro is not a peak you can climb on your own. It is mandatory to climb with a licensed guide and have porters carry your equipment. This sustains the local economy and allows local people to reap the rewards of tourism.
If you or a group of people are interested in climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and would like to do it as a Fundraiser for House of Hope, we gladly welcome your help! Please go to our contact page and connect with us. We would love to give you more information on climbing, writing a fundraiser letter etc. It would be a climb of a lifetime! TAKE THE CHALLENGE!
