I was born in Scotland but when I was five years old my parents moved to Tanzania as missionaries. I had a wonderful upbringing with a loving family and awesome parents, in the heart of Africa. My parents attended and assisted the leadership at a local Swahili speaking church, and taught me about the Lord and how to walk with Him.
Throughout my childhood and into my teens I had a relationship with the Lord that was very much works oriented, but it kept me on the straight and narrow all the way to my twenties. When I was 14 years old I decided to get baptized - baptisms were conducted in the local river (no crocodiles!) - and that was a turning point in my commitment to the Lord. After University in England I came back to Tanzania to serve my Parents on the mission field for a year, which challenged me in my walk as I was preaching and teaching regularly in the villages.
In early 2006 I was sent to Damascus Syria on an assignment with the field of work I was in as a consultant Water Engineer, and it was there that Jesus met me in a wonderful new way and started something new & fresh in me. Towards the end of the year I was led to really seek His face, bringing great changes and fresh fruit to my life, in particularly breaking off my religious walls that I had built up around me.
Every new day brings new challenges, but bottom line is, I know I am loved as a son, and no matter what I do nothing will ever change that!
